Kathy's House is located in a pleasant residential neighborhood, within walking distance of the Milwaukee County Zoo as well as a county park with picnic areas and children's play equipment. |

All guests check-in at the Volunteer Center. New guests complete paperwork here, are assigned a room and take a tour of Kathy's House. Current guests stop by to use the computers and internet, to sign in or out (when arriving or leaving the building) or just to chat. Volunteers are busy checking in guests, preparing for fundraisers and caring for the house. |

Guests prepare meals on their own schedule. Each guestroom has an assigned storage area for groceries and supplies and there is donated food available as well. Particularly around holidays, our guests often work together to prepare a picnic or special holiday meal. |

The dining room is a popular place to gear up for the day. Coffee or tea and
bakery items are only a few steps away, and guests often take time to share progress reports. Both good news and disappointments feel better when shared with a friend. |

The gathering room is a wonderful place to wind down at the end of the day. Large enough to host a party, but as cozy as your own home, it is furnished for comfort. |
|
The library is available to all, with books, games and puzzles for any age. A conference table and chairs is convenient for activities or for a family conference. |

|
|
A large TV and VCR are available in the media room, with a generous selection of video tapes. Couches and recliners are very inviting at the end of a long day! |

A bright and cheerful hallway leads to eighteen guest suites. The fountain is a favorite "wishing" spot for our younger guests! |

Each guest suite has its own bathroom, television, mini-fridge, local phone
service and generous storage. Most rooms have two full sized beds; cribs and
roll-away-beds are available. |

Computers with internet access and a printer are available for guest use 24
hours a day. |

There is a beautiful outdoor patio for guests to relax after a long day or make
dinner on the grill. Flowers, plants, and a fountain make this quite a restful
area. |

A
van driven by Kathy's House personnel is available for rides to and from the
hospital, as well as for errands such as grocery shopping. |
